Yeah....it used to be the world's 3rd largest economy. What happened? California could be the world's leading economy and it would still spend itself into bankruptcy as it has just accomplished.
Priceless. You brag about how much earning you have but forget to tell everyone that California spends money like its is the world's number 1 economy. The real question. Where does all that money go?
Yeah....we can tell just how prosperous the state of California is......just visit LA and San Francisco. Pay no attention to the garbage flowing into the Pacific, just step around the human shit, and urine stained homeless people living in vacant lots. And by all means pay no attention to the ragging forest (non managed) fires destroying 10s of thousands of prime timber lands. or the thousands of gallons of water being diverted into the pacific away from the drought laden farm lands in the south because the WATER might destroy the breading grounds of some endangered bug or fly.

I work in (commercial) real estate but have invested in residential real estate for years. So this is a topic I have some knowledge about and am passionate about. Starting in the ‘70’s in California we started passing more restrictive land use laws and environmental laws to slow down development. Over time we’ve passed even stricter legislation. With the influx of people along the lack of development we’ve reached the position we’re in today where all but the well to do are priced out of the market.
To your point about ignorance of finance a number of people can’t comprehend how the restrictive environment they desire created this unaffordable situation we face today. So the problem continues to worsen
