^Pick any of the above for yourself. I prefer 'fool'

Fool - anything is a transaction, what matters is the nature of the transaction
Is it above board? this was not..why all the strawmen between the Clinton campaign and Steele?

Constitutional protections/enforcements are the same. You can't selectively enforce them. there are all kinds of cases that have been overturned because of such. you only want this done because of your TDS.

I'm not even arguing the sillines of emoluments here -clearly it was written to stop bribes ( gifts) or coruppted influence
Please give us an example where a portion of the constitution becomes invalid due to non-use. Silly!

it's not the Constitution (invalid), it's the enforcement that is the issue.

Who knows if SCOTUS would get involved in a separation of powers case-
POTUS would have to bring it, and he wouldn't unless it was used for impeachment.

But you also understand no one is above or below the law (either) and selective enforcement
    is a vile 14th violation
I don't know how you were diverted / You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted / No one alerted you

How could it be selective enforcement? Who else violated the emoluments clause but was not prosecuted?

it's the fact the law is dormant ( there must be a legal term for that) like the Logan act.
It makes it clear Congressional partisan retribution is the motive.

Besides all that -there is no violation.
Any business deals based on what TrumpCo had going on before he was POTUS is exempt from emoluments.
You can't punish him now for what started back then.

Trump would have won hosting at Doral also -as long as he did it at cost. He figured that wpuld just be fake news that could be used against him in the election - so why bother.

How is it dormant? That is silly. Directing the government to pay money to host an event at a property he owns is a direct violation. At cost is a misnomer, in summer that place loses tuns of money, at cost would be a huge benefit to him. Also he is lying about the "at cost". He never mentioned that until after he cancelled it.

You are so stupid you keep falling for Trump's lies. He is laughing at you.

“President Trump is a billionaire, by all accounts. He is not in need of the $400,000 a year salary paid to presidents, and committed to donating his salary on a quarterly basis to the federal government. So, where is that money going?

Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced that President Trump is donating his fourth quarter salary, or $100,000, to help fund a new grant program focused on infrastructure projects, reports the Washington Post. The Infrastructure for Building America program will reward state and local governments that have raised their own funds before asking for federal help.

It's like saying: "You and your stupid Constitution!"

And with his crack, Trump tips his hand. He has always had a disdain for the law. I have never heard of ANYONE who spent so much time arguing with it in court. And all out of greed and hatred.

Who would like to eliminate our constitution more than socialist scum like you?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

You don't know which people? Are you stupid? Ignorant? The PHONY media and the Democratic Party of the Jackass who thinks it can impeach a President based on a harmless phone call while moronically claiming that harmless phone call was the greatest threat to the Republic since the Democrats started a Civil War. Dumbass.

Even at cost he is doing better than the crickets ghost town the place is now. If bed bugs made any noise that would be the only thing heard.

'At cost' at least pays the bills and the overhead. The workers get paid, the utilities get paid, etc, etc, etc. NONE of that is going on currently. 'At cost' takes Trump from losing his rear to at least breaking even. That is most certainly a gift which would be accepted from a foreign State.

Even if he charged nothing. All the people stay and eat for free. It is STILL a huge publicity event for Doral. By agreeing to stay and attend, the participants GIVE him THAT. It's still a gift for them to simply arrive and have the photo-op. It is a thing of value.

And no, laws do not go away just because they have not been violated for a long time.

It just means that Trump's predecessors have not had the gall, audacity and greed to try to profit from the office.

Nixon did try to use it for his own political purpose. That didn't end well for him.

If we let Trump get away with that a terrible precedent is set.

One which could go both ways.

If you support Trump in this, then you are also supporting a Clinton-like Democrat doing worse in the future.

    I hope you understand that.
