The biggest cluster F* with Syria was when Obama took his eye off the ISIS-ball and allowed the CIA to arm the ‘moderate’ anti-Assad rebels.

Ostensibly, to help them over turn Assad.

That extended the ISIS mission because the arms intended for the ‘moderates’ ended up in ISIS hands. But Trump comes along and scuttles the CIA OP and proceeds to make quick work of ISIS.

Mission. Accomplished.

Hanging around for the Kurds is classic ‘mission creep’. The longer we have boots on the ground in Syria the greater the probability some kid from OH gets killed there—for who the frick knows why, exactly.
