Elijah Cummings will be missed. He was a stalwart American defender of human rights and dignity of the underadvantaged.
Putting him down now that he is dead is a demonstration of the worst taste, and is unacceptable in polite and respectful company.
It does show that this forum has some of the most extreme right wing figures who are far removed from practical politics and reality, lost in a world of make-believe and conspiracy theory.
Forums like this give voice to those who most people would never listen to.
Do not let those voices weaken your resolve to see this nation at her best.
Those kind of voices are the fringe and do not represent the mainstream America. They choose to selectively disbelieve the mainstream news to fit their radical agenda, but when the mainstream news reports on the death of a figure they have disagreed with, they suddenly believe the mainstream news (thus proving their ordinary rejection of it just plain dumb.)

Except that it's not just the right wing on this board that roots for and/or celebrates the death of others. Nor is it unique to this board. We see it in many different social media forums. Not sure if this is a new phenomena or something that has always existed (or always existed but folks didn't have an outlet to express it like we do today with the internet).
