Bottom line, the abortion debate should not be about whether or not a fertilized egg is human. It should be about the legal issue of when the unborn human child should be granted basic human life protections. Is it from day 1? After the heartbeat is detected? Sentience? Birth?

As seen in the article above, even the biologists who knew the correct answer scientifically still had urges to demean the question as they thought it would hurt their position on abortion.
