Something. And it needs to be something unpleasant! LOL cuz that is the whole point. Don't teach people to expect free things in life. These are adults at 18, right? Let's not extend immaturity 4 years.
There are communities that have offered to pay for the College education of someone who can fill one of their needs and usually the only requirement is, that they work in that community for a specific number of years.

Yep, ... or you can join the military and get paid to learn.

I"d be happy if they just paid back the money from "their sexual misconduct" slush fund.

No question that this is a complex issue. A big part of the problem, as we see in these threads, is that most people don't even understand their own insurance funding. Most think that insurance is free, or very low cost because they literally pay next to nothing for it.

Others saw price hikes after ACA was passed, but didn't understand that their bosses were taking advantage of the propaganda in the news, and claiming that ACA raised their costs. Meanwhile, they just passed along a larger share of the premium cost to the employee, and blamed Obama.

Many pay almost nothing for their insurance. That's due to their negotiated union contracts in many cases. So, they'd actually be paying more via taxation, and they won't be very supportive of such a plan.

This country typically operates on a 'I got mine' mentality. Others 'made bad choices', if you believe their claims.

So a new law which establishes medicare for all must also force employers who have been providing health insurance to then increase the pay of workers by the same amount the insurance was costing the company.

    Problem solved.

    We can do this.

    It's not rocket science.

Employers will have no excuse not to comply. One day, they are paying the money out to insurance companies. The next day they are paying the same money out to the workers. No loss for the company, just take one payable and shift it to another. Profits are not affected. No additional cost is incurred by the employer. Workers get fatter paychecks.

One problem with that is the employer contribution to the program...app. 7% of an employee's salary.

Self employed people pay about 11%...having to contribute the employee as well as the employer contribution.

“We” don’t want to do this, Snowflake.

The Democrat debates proved that there is no need to send in the clowns. They all were on stage including a culture thief, Pocahontas and a Socialist and a creepy, sleepy, corrupt old man, Biden, who should go home and wipe the oatmeal off his chin.
