This message is for those of us that I call the Radio Generation. Even today, I can identify the vocalists, and name the big band, after a few seconds.
No singer was heard more, nor more identifiable, than Helen Forrest’s voice played by radio disc jockeys before television killed radio. Here are a few of her recordings:
