There is no deal. It is speaking out loud about a deal that is not been made. Trump wants something to counter his constant messes and this is what he picked.

Hey it is your man Trump that made a habit of taking credit every time the Stock Market climbed, any other President was smart enough to know better, so he's also going to get blame every time it falls

He is a recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (2001) and the John Bates Clark Medal (1979).[2][3] He is a former senior vice president and chief economist of the World Bank and is a former member and chairman of the (US president's) Council of Economic Advisers.[4][5] He is known for his support of Georgist public finance theory[6][7][8] and for his critical view of the management of globalization, of laissez-faire economists (whom he calls "free market fundamentalists"), and of international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Are you daft? Did I not acknowledge that the guy "was an economist with lengthy credentials?" and also noted "it is easy to ping pong economists with lengthy credentials on both sides of the issue?" Which is 100% true, meaning it is inane to think that one economist's opinion is the opinion on the issue, it is similar to the way you approach climate change, attempting to create a false paradigm

Thank you, very similar to all the "big deals" Trump makes, lot of luster, but few details

This deal is weaker than the one he rejected starting 2 years ago. He just needs a deal now because his mishandling of everything is on the front burner. Trump was saving it for when he needed a distraction.

Now we learn that this “deal” with China is almost the exact same deal they offered 2 years ago, and we rejected

The U.S. has come to a “very substantial phase one deal” with China in the high-stakes trade negotiations between the two economic superpowers, President Donald Trump said Friday.

“Phase two will start almost immediately” after the first phase is signed, Trump said in the Oval Office alongside Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.

Both sides in the long-running talks, which resumed at the top level this week, have signaled optimism about coming to an agreement of some sort in the near future.

The current incarnation of the deal will address intellectual property and financial services concerns, along with purchases of about $40 to $50 billion worth of agricultural products by China.

President Trump, speaking at the White House, said: “We’ve come to a very substantial phase one deal”...adding it will take three to five weeks to get written. The deal includes intellectual property, financial services and $40-$50 billion related to agriculture products. It is unclear what the U.S will give up in return and a comprehensive trade deal will have two or three phases.

The U.S. will not be raising tariffs on the Chinese next week to the 30 percent level as part of this agreement.

U.S. stocks spiked to the highs of the session, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising by nearly 500 points, before pulling back slightly at the close.

This deal means nothing, just another failure of the great negotiator

This is only about the constant failure of the man who calls himself the great negotiator.
Has Trump had a single foreign policy success?
