Trying to wrap my head around how Trump manages to keep himself composed enough in a Senate trial where he won't be able to tweet, blurt out, and will have to do the homework of building a defense.
I think Trump thinks McConnell runs the trial...but he doesn't. Chief Justice Roberts presides over the Senate trial. I don't think Trump realizes that. I think he thinks McConnell will rig the trial for him. Would love to watch Trump take the stand. LOL. That'd be something to see.

Roberts, as conservative as he is, is the only firewall in the SCOTUS to stop hardcore right wing treachery

I don't believe any Conservative has given any thought to how a trial of Trump in the Senate would play out.
What do they imagine his defense will be? Printing up blog posts from Infowars and JPP and screaming like a barnyard animal.
In a trial, Trump can't tweet, he can't interrupt...and if he takes the stand, will be cross-examined.
Does anyone here truly believe the guy who won't even sit for a deposition unless he's threatened with jailtime, will keep himself composed during a weeks- or months-long Senate trial that lays out all the shit he's admitted to, and the shit he hasn't?

Mcconnel has power and uses it for evil. He will not allow Trump to be questioned. Roberts is a far righty corporatist. He is not looking for justice. The plutocracy is nigh.

That's why I think in the time between a House vote on impeachment, and the commencement of a Senate trial, Trump abdicates the office in the middle of the night and absconds to Russia (no extradition), leaving the GOP and all his dumb supporters left carrying the baggage.
That's what I don't think any of those on the right have considered. They are too wrapped up in provoking the liberals to have thought about what happens if Trump ditches them.
