Another thing you choose to believe but are wrong. Volker spelled it out to start the conversation making it plain Trump was quid pro quo. Sondland was shocked and wanted him to understand that he should not message it so the public would see it. So he carefully explained what the proper message was and Volker showed him he understood. Sondland also told him how to message so the public would not see it.

It wasn’t a conspiracy theory based on a misquote from the texts: the FBI *really did* have a leak campaign and it was coordinated with the media. Little to none of what was leaked turned out to be true, but that wasn’t the point. The point was to damage Trump as much as possible and to prop up the Russian conspiracy theory.
This Ukrainian thing is based on the same playbook: leaks from anonymous sources are done behind the cover of ‘Whistleblower’. That way, the sources can remain anonymous [the Resistance learned a hard lesson with Blasey-Ford] as the ‘whistleblowers’ cite their own anonymous and often times, second hand, sources.
The scary/depressing thing is about half the country can’t see such an obvious charade for what it is. It would help matters greatly if the media would exercise even an ounce of skepticism about the whole thing instead of gobbling up every tidbit like hungry chickens and propagating it as Truth.
