Trump believes he has the ultimate get out of jail free card. He convinced himself that he has the power to pardon himself. What is particularly worrisome is he investigated that very carefully right after he became the accidental president. He had it researched and he is convinced he has that power. Then he passed out a few random pardons to gage the blowback. It was not too bad so he is forging straight ahead. The sad fact is he knew he was going to need it from day one.
