So did a lot of Republicans. But it was Conservatives who voted to keep it across both parties.

You don't get to be the one who decides that it's not defined by it.

Meaning it isn't defined by being racist as it was in the past
Wait - why was it defined as racist in the past? And when did that change? What was the inciting incident?

Wow, you would think he would attempt to sneak into the party that loss the last election.
Shame on him for going for the winners.

You are naturally overselling Trump, making exaggerations.

Wages are down instead of up- and still going in the wrong direction.

The Donald Trump Tax plan was a scam. He lied to the people and so are you now!

The NYT should have explained that the rise in wages the labor dept. were reporting have to do with the BLUE states that raised their minimum wages last year, including NY!

If your state did not raise it's minimum wage- you probably did not even get a raise.

Because some of the red states did not raise their minimum wages- the workers are still fucked with stagnant wages.

    WHat else you got?

We didn't lose the last election...we won control of The House.

Nazis were running as Republicans last year.

More Democrats than Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act.

153 Democrats in the House voted "Yea" and 136 Republicans voted "Yea"

    Is 153 < 136?

46 Senate Democrats voted "Yea" and 27 Republicans voted "Yea"

    Is 46< 27?

Nope. It's all Obama. Trump came in at the very end, riding Obama's coattails:

You more than misquoted me, you outright lied.

This is what I wrote in post #17, quote:

'Haw haw haw ... the republicans fought the democrats for 100 years to pass the CRA. 200% more (or 3 times as many) democrat reps voted Against the CRA than repubs. You're a joke who doesn't know history. Moochelle lauded Black Baby Daddy culture when she introduce OBOBO as her Babys Daddy.

Post the record on Nay votes and prove me wrong.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

The GOP of pre-Civil Rights bears no resemblance to the party post-Civil Rights, and that's because the party became the party of racists after Civil Rights and after Goldwater was thumped in '64.

The Nixon Southern Strategy was a campaign strategists idea that was not implemented.

Proof ... the election right after Nixon/Ford, all the former slave States, but one, voted DEMOCRAT.

The election after Carter, the republican won 44 States including the Northeast.

This liberal myth continued to be debunked with the next election when the Republican won 49 out of 50 States in 1984.

    on't doubt me.

It was implemented starting with Nixon in 1968. Here's his strategist, Kevin Phillips, in his own words:

In 1980, when Reagan launched his campaign in Philadelphia, MS, the site of one of the worst Civil Rights-era crimes, and made no mention of that crime when he did.

Carter won in 1976 because of the...impeachment.

Yeah...why do you think that is? Carter also won New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Ohio, Rhode Island, Hawaii, and Minnesota.

So you're not going to admit you lied ... errr ... misquoted me, ... or even post the Nay voting record.

That is a liberal myth. The South continued to vote Democrat in local and State elections long after Nixon's secret southern strategy.

Not sure what you think that accomplishes other than showing the only Republicans who voted for Civil Rights and ending the Poll Tax came from places other than the South. There's not many Republicans left outside the South today.

That is a liberal myth. The South continued to vote Democrat in local and State elections long after Nixon's secret southern strategy.
Except that in 1968, they voted for Nixon or Wallace, not Humphrey.

And in 1972, they voted for Nixon.

    1976 followed the impeachment.

1980 went right back to the strategy that got Nixon elected.
