Man do rightists seem to be clueless about environmental things. Why is it the city liberals need to tell those that call the rural areas home how not to screw it up. Even with more natural stuff, you have to be super careful about runoff. I used a spore powder to deal with Japanese beetles. You have to make sure you have a clear time where it isn't supposed to rain for at least 24 hours. You have to spread it on the ground with gloved hands while wearing a painters mask. Then you mist it gently into the topsoil.

There are so many better things for protecting your crops than those chemicals that big businesses push to keep around because they are so cheap to make and sell to the clueless. Many essential oils or simple natural things will do the job perfectly. They just aren't dirt cheap like the chemicals. On the other hand, if you have a bunch of scrap cedar just soak them in a bucket of water. You can apply that to ward off many insects.

I learned in the 70s how to deal with them from my grandfather, a staunch Republican like me. Doesn't involve spreading chemicals. This proves that you're FOS.
