Trump speaks for an hour and a half, bloviates on and on, all of it sounding like a 'Yaay me Trump rally,' and without a word, in one simple act, Nancy Pelosi steals the evening!
As you can guess, Trump flies into a tweet rage, tweeting and retweeting over and over about Nancy Pelosi's simple action.
This one is typical:

Let us recall how the evening went. Trump was introduced, walked toward the dias, handed copies of the SOTU speech to Pence and Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi extended her had to shake the hand of the President, He ignored the gesture and snubbed her, and then launched into his speech. Only after being snubbed did she withdraw her hand, respectfully listen to everything the president had to say, and only after he was finished did she tear up a copy of his speech.
First, she extended her hand of welcome, only after it was rebuffed did she show what she thought of the speech.
The symbolism could hardly be more clear. Pelosi was ready to compromise and forgive, but Trump was having none of it. He is the divider, the insolent one who refuses to compromise or forgive.
If anyone is dividing the nation, Seth Harris, it is not Nancy Pelosi, but Donald Trump.

And this is typical of Donald Trump. He has zero interest in compromise. Even though his following is only a minority of the nation, he purports to impose his will upon the rest who do not support him. He plays up to his base as he insults the rest of the nation. He never once set out to compromise, draw the nation together, unite. His goal has been to drive the nation further apart. Trump wishes to break the nation and then build a new one from the pieces. He wants a mean and selfish ruthless nation. Just look at his picture on his twitter account. That scowl says it all. He is a mean and nasty person. He is not a good leader. Trump is a divider who pretends to lead by threat.
