Default REPUBLICANS will turn on Trump and vote for impeachment (from 2 REPUBLICANS)

You know I wouldn't have bet on that BUT in less than an hour an ex HOUSE member, REP, said he saw 'about 30' he thought would likely vote against Trump. Then I opened up this regarding SENATORS....

George Conway predicts Republicans will vote against Trump on impeachment

    BY JOHN BOWDEN - 09/25/19 10:45 AM EDT 1,127

George Conway, husband to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and a frequent critic of President Trump, on Wednesday predicted that Republicans in the Senate would break with the president and vote to remove Trump from office if the House votes to impeach.

Conway tweeted that Republican senators would hide their decision to vote against the president until the last possible minute on the issue.
"I agree with this. There may be Republican senators who won’t say a word until the moment they say 'guilty' when the roll is called at the end of an impeachment trial," he tweeted, responding to a political commentator who argued that Republican senators would vote to impeach the president because many "privately hate" Trump.

Conway has in the past called for Trump to be removed from office by members of his Cabinet via provisions in the 25th Amendment.

His tweet comes as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced the beginning of a formal impeachment inquiry Tuesday afternoon, with Pelosi saying Trump "must be held accountable" for his actions....

it's going to be tough to provide cover for Trump, especially since his call notes said it all, don't even need the original whistle blower complaint any more

George Conway predicts Republicans will vote against Trump on impeachment
I do not know if I buy it, but I am on record on this forum saying that Republicans will always put self-preservation about all else -- that if Trump's approval rating ever dipped down below 30 percent and it looked like he was going to cost the GOP control of both Senate and White House, they might consider ditching him for Pence. Strictly as a calculation predicated on political survival.

It is worth nothing that in every election Donald Trumpf has been the face of the Republican Party, the GOP not only has gotten itself blown out in the national popular vote count, but they also lost seats in congress in both elections. Trump has never had coat tails for the party, he has never helped their prospects in congress, and if anything he personally cost the party control of the House of Representatives.

There are a lot of political calculations and risk management that is going to take place if Trump's approval ever hits 29 percent.

Maybe the rest of the GOP are starting to worry about Trump's sagging poll numbers.

All of these investigations based on nothing proves the left is worried. He kicked Hillary's ass. What identify politics candidate is going to get theirs kicked in 2020?

Nah. The GOP is too spineless to stand up to Trump. They're all gonna back him. I am not even 100% confident Amash would vote to impeach; he'd find some bullshit technicality to avoid it. He votes with Trump over 80% of the time.
