Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, who is challenging trump for the GOP nomination, weighed in on the subject during the Morning Joe program and raised the idea of the death penalty, reports Mediaite. "Pressuring a foreign country to interfere with and control a US election" is treason, said Weld. "And the penalty for treason under the US code is death."
I disagree with the death penalty in general, but I am powerless to stop it if that is the law.
It is hard to understand why somebody who is filthy rich would even risk being under scrutiny for possibly having done this. What. He had it too good? Bored with being a billionaire?
Best to avoid even the appearance of such serious infractions. Most people would not even consider doing such things. Trump is always testing the boundaries of the law. Sooner or later you'd think he'd get burned.
Good people don't need the law to draw limits for their activities. Merely attempting to remain just at the edge of illegality is not how good people are guided.
Remaining barely within the law, or maybe testing the gray area, does not define goodness. What that defines is whether investigations and/or charges are warranted.
Ya play with fire ya get burned.
It could get stinky.
