House Democrats Plan To Strip Tax-Exempt Status From Christian Hate Groups

House Democrats are saying no to government subsidized hate, and plan to deny over 60 Christian hate groups tax-exempt status.


At the hearing, held earlier this week, Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) declared:

Our tax code is no place for hate. Groups that propagate white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and hatred for the LGBTQ community, among others, do not deserve a government subsidy through tax exemption. Hate is not charitable…

And in his opening statement Rep. John Lewis (D), a veteran civil rights advocate, said in part:

Today, the Oversight Subcommittee will review how the tax code supports hate groups.

Some of these organizations promote hate based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.

Their actions taint the good work of all tax-exempt organizations.

Hate is not consistent with the goodwill of our nation and its people.

I believe that the federal government should not sponsor or support groups whose hatred seeks to divide us.

Any tax-exempt organization that promotes hate and sows the seeds of violence is one too many.

How DO you exclude mosques and Muslim religious organizations from it? The ‘it’ is a thinly veiled attempt to silence dissent over progressive dogma. Using the force of government, no less. By branding select groups as ‘haters’ the left seeks isolate and silence them so as to more effectively advance the progressive agenda.

The lefties political problem is that the attempt is so thinly veiled even non-religious people can see it.
