Colt released a statement on Thursday to clarify the decision, which was made because the company simply isn’t selling enough of the rifles in the civilian marketplace to continue devoting the resources into it — a pattern that may be attributed to Colt rifles’ $1,000+ price tag and a market supplied with lower priced competitors.

    WOMP WOMP
Nah. They're just busy building 'em for law enforcement. There are plenty of other manufacturers providing AR15 designs to consumers.

No, that would be you. You are unnaturally afraid of guns. You don't any any guns. You are at greater risk because you don't own any guns and can't defend yourself. Then you smugly declare yourself to feel secure. No, you are paranoid.

Colt is not going out of production with them. They just have huge contracts for law enforcement and military. They don't have manufacturing resources to do both, and they know the market for AR15s, while a hot item, is not a lucrative as the contract they got.
They are actually manufacturing them as fast as they can.

Why would they come knocking? It's legal to own an AR15.
