actually, I paid taxes to support public schools AND paid tuition at a parochial school for both my kids BECAUSE my opinion wasn't changed.......

The problem is that you're not going to attract any talent to the teaching profession if you pay them low wages, don't let them collectively bargain, make their employment vulnerable, strive to take their benefits from them, and do nothing but heap scorn on them and blame them for everything.

How would you attract the best teachers while doing all that?

If they suck at what they do, their employment should be vulnerable. Unions prevent the bad ones from being removed. Why do you want sub par teachers in the schools?
