i think i have seasonal affective disorder? or whatever it's called? Not saying officially, but I might as well. Fall SUCKS. I mean, first few weeks of fall are great. then it sucks. then winter. the death of life. the darkness.

we are entering the doldroms ladies and gentlemen. half of our life is spent in this shithole part of the year.

I felt it in Alaska, not so much living in Texas.

Seasonal Affective Disorder sucks. I spent a few hundred on one of those special lights and it just ended up making me have manic episodes. The best thing is just to supplement with a lot of Vitamin D3. I take maybe 6 thousand milligrams during winter days. I actually started the heavy supplementation after a deep depression. It turned out I ended up with a Vitamin D deficiency. If you're hunkered down during winter it's good to have things to keep you busy from model kits to dishes to cook. One thing you'd love as a remedy is hot foods. I added hot sauce to foods because it can improve circulation and mood. Just know your limits and tolerances to after effects.

That's hard to deal with. Winter isn't so bad in a place where you have snow on the ground most of the time -- it actually makes it a lot brighter. About the best you can do otherwise is keep your environment brightly-lit, make sure you have lots of color -- pictures, pillows, rugs, other decor. I've heard pros and cons about those light boxes. Oh, and try to take 2000 IU of Vitamin D daily. It really does help your health and mood both.

That's the Poor Man's Vacation. Lot of National Parks to see. Summer crowds have gone home. You ready for another Road Trip, Jade?

This might be fun and interesting:

    "Jamestown Settlement
Relive the experience of America's first permanent English colony.
Near the site of the original colony, Jamestown Settlement tells the story of 17th-century Virginia, from the arrival of English colonists in Jamestown in 1607 to the cultural encounters and events that planted the seeds of a new nation. The world of Jamestown, America’s first permanent English colony, comes to life through film, gallery exhibits and outdoor living history."

This could be good for a few laughs:

    "Prepare to Believe
Bible history comes to life at the Creation Museum! This family-friendly attraction near Cincinnati explores creation science with stunning exhibits, dinosaur bones, fossils, botanical gardens, a planetarium, zoo, zip line course, and more."

Get stoned under the night skies:

    "WELCOME TO METEOR CRATER
The world's best preserved meteorite impact site on Earth. Located just minutes from Interstate 40 and the old Route 66 in Northern Arizona near Winslow. Meteor Crater is the spectacular result of a collision that rocked the American Southwest approximately 50,000 years ago with the energy of more than 20 million tons of TNT. Situated under the wide skies of the Arizona High Desert, Meteor Crater offers an interactive educational experience for the entire family in a beautiful, natural setting."
