This isn't about the US shit-for-brains; it is about a sovereign nation being attacked in an act of war by a pariah state. They are part of the UN. The US is the leader of the UN's efforts.

Of course, if you are an Iranian loving terrorist supporter; nothing should be done.

While Trump keeps sending mixed signals about Iran, the House has sent a clear one: It is Congress, not the president, that has the power to declare war.

The good news is that the House has put the president on notice. The chamber voted 251-170 on July 12 for a bipartisan measure, authored by Khanna (D-CA) and Congressman Matt Gaetz, (R-FL), that is intended to force the president to respect the constitutionally mandated authority of Congress to make decisions regarding war and peace. Specifically, the Khanna-Gaetz amendment to the annual National Defense Authorization Act prevents federal funds from being used for any military force in or against Iran without congressional authorization.

The War Powers Act of 1973 says the president can commit to a war on his own decision. He has to notify Congress within 48 hours. Then Congress can watch for 60 days. What happens after 60 days? Congress declares war and goes along.

So we cannot discuss a war until it happens? Does that make sense to you?...Of course, it does. If it makes you uncomfortable because you are a Trumpy, it should not be talked about. You must be as worried as we are.

The USA was not attacked. No US soldier was attacked or killed. Saudi is not an ally nor are they a member of NATO. If Trump declares a war and gets away with doing so on those grounds we are far beyond fucked as a nation and the grand experiment is over. It will have become a supine slave for Trump's pimping for profit pleasure.

No one said that you can not discuss a war.

The question was asked, are we at war with Iran and an admonition to keep us posted.

Pleased as punch to educate you on a post that you obviously could not understand.

Sounds reasonable to me. It allows flexibility to act quickly and Congress can consider it later.

Double groan for a poster who lacks basic debate skills.

A very low score on the Rubric Template.
