You do realize that California accounts for something like sixteen percent of America's GDP, without it, and a few other States, we'd all look like Mississippi. In addition, California's, along with several other Blue States, keep Red States as Mississippi afloat

This does not change the fact that CA still has the highest poverty rate (when adjusted for cost-of-living).

NO! Flash is lying here. The poverty rate Flash is referring to is a new poverty rate measurement that didn't start until a few years ago, and considers anyone who gets any kind of financial assistance from the state as "in poverty", including middle class families whose children get financial aid for state schools.
