From the New York Times Garud...

"Going further than expected, the central bank cut its target for the overnight federal funds rate to a range of zero to 0.25 percent and brought the United States to the zero-rate policies that Japan used for years in its own fight against deflation."

That is not what you claimed, you claimed it was at 0 for the bulk of 7 years, yet it never once reached 0.

You did not say it was a range, you said it was ZERO. LIAR.

Then why did you claim it was held at ZERO for the bulk of 7 years, by OBAMA? In reality the lowest it got was .04 and was managed by the FED?

You are the one who claimed OBAMA held it at 0 for the bulk of 7 years, not me.

I know it was never 0 and that the president does not have the power to set FED policy.

Why? So we lower rates and then what? When do we pay the piper for the Fed asset inflation program of the past decade because money isn't free and you can't leave rates artificially low forever.

The theory is that lowering interest rates is one of the tools to spark a struggling economy. My question is why would trump be screaming for zero rates, while at the same time claiming the economy is amazing, better than ever.

I’m not asking what the theory is Jarod. I asked we lower rates like you want and then what? When does the bill come due for the Fed’s decade of low interest rates?

I am not advocating for lowering rates at this time (though if being super vigilant, I could not argue with the idea). Where did you get that idea?

I do think in some circumstances it is the right thing to do, and pay the bill when the economy is better equipped to absorb the cost. Its very basic economics.

Where did I get the idea? From Post #3

""Because the economy is not strong, I would not be against them lowering interest rates,""

If it's basic economics why did the Fed do QE 2 & 3 and basically keep rates at zero for over half a decade in a growing economy?
