Perhaps because Calif is a "sanctuary state" much of the argument is a given.

There were several clips I recall over the last year or so, many posted here that kinda jogged my memory that overall the dems were hardly for open boarders, supported what Obama was doing (deportations) & had been advocating as much, fixing the boarder etc for 20 years-including hillary, fienstein, pelosi, biden etc etc etc..
