    That's one perspective.
    I, however, don't share it.

I have no problem with people choosing to pay private insurance premiums, but it should be the same as people paying private school tuition.
You're paying taxes for the public services anyway.
That's how Western Europe does it, and we're socially primitive compared to them.

Wow, you have no problem with others paying twice. How open minded of you. /Sarcasm

After paying for 42 school years of private school (14 years for 3 children) I commented to a friend that since we are paying for public schools that our children never attend, we should get a tax break. He said no, that would allow the government to get their nose into private schools and ruin them.

    He was 100% right.

We make a choice about private school but a couple who has no children do not and should not pay for schools.

Perfect time to be there, because I avoided the nasty summer, and Biloxi experienced an unusually cold winter, which was fine with me. I left about six months before Katrina struck.

My local PNW water has always been good. That said, I do have a Culligan water machine.
Yep, winter is great down there... Rest of the year is as bad as you can imagine...

There is a more direct correlation to you, the average citizen, from national defense than there is from education. Of course, the argument for public education is that it benefits the community through future productivity. We are currently working to undermine that argument thanks to the atrocious quality of modern parenting, which undermines public schools more completely than any of the bad policies, perspectives, and initiatives of progressive educators.

Warren has spent a lifetime in the service of the middle class and the poor. She wrote a dozen books on personal financing to teach people how to fend off the banks and Trump types. She was a Harvard law professor before running for the senate. She was a favorite to testify in front of congressional investigations because she was so capable and knowledgeable. They called her as an expert witness many times.
You idiots think a crook like Trump is a great choice. Talk about stupid.

Pocahontas is a dishonest clown who has been gaming the system for some time. She once wrote a book in which she argued against student loan forgiveness, but, now she wants to outmaneuver Bernie on such matters.

horror thought if she should win? Medicade expansion will take us broke, unless we raise taxers -and we will have to, Single pay would so disrupt the economy it could cause a depression.
    ~~

Smart people understand economics, and tailor their policies to max out. China taking advantge of their uniform population and State Owned Enterprises (SOE) .India providing an educated populace and low cost labor for tech.

The clueless are also subjected to economics whether they like it or not. Any competitive disadvantage a nation has in the international markets will take it's toll.

Don't bitch about capitalism -learn to play the game. It's the way of the world.

She did play at capitalism, and then went into academia and politics, where she decided to learn the socialism game.

Bad parenting/neglect is a problem passed down, perhaps generations that was once addressed or attempted in public schools.

IMHO this is a topic worthy of it's own thread & w/ some members actually in or retired from the educational field it could be pretty interesting & perhaps "educational".

Americans just don't get it. Living in a civilized nation comes at the expense of paying high taxes. Low taxes means living in a socially regressive nation. We, coincidentally, are probably the most socially regressive of all developed western nations. That's not something that can be blamed on progressive liberals. That's something to blame on teabaggers and Trumpanzees.
