The government takes out $115 out of every one of my monthly SS checks to pay for my Medicare- that I paid for eagerly and dearly, and in good faith, over my entire 50 year work history in the form of a deduction.

I also have a supplemental Healthcare Insurance that I also pay for monthly, that would help to pay for most everything else that Medicare does not cover, should I ever need to rely on that.

I have ignored you Republicans for years that have called Medicare and Social Security "Social" welfare programs- since I began paying for my SS at the age of 15 years of age, while you Republicans have threatened to end the Medicare system all of my lifetime. Which BTW- is the reason why I totally vote only Democrat, and have voted that way since the 70's because of the continual threat by the Republicans to end Social Security and Medicare. Keeps me voting Democrat!

Have I even utilized any of the Medicare or Supplemental Insurance since I have been retired for the last 3 years? No! Not really, as I have only had a couple of annual checkups that Medicare paid a couple of hundred dollars on, each time total.

I am lucky to be in great health, and I haven't had to rely on Medicare for anything as of yet.

Paying for it with private insurance premiums is the stupid way.

Conservatives want the freedom to make the decision themselves, which is to say, freedom from social responsibility.
Nobody is entitled to freedom from social responsibility nor should anybody be allowed to have it.
