    i dont really mind EC or no EC.

    What I do find appalling is agreeing to an EC election beforehand then whining because you lost by EC rules and declaring the election illegitimate.

    The irony here is that IF Republican Presidents started winning the popular vote every time, they'd be demanding a re-institution of the electoral college. Leftists are that fucking lame and pathetic.

    The current two largest parties, the Democrats and the Republicans, formed out of similar parties in the past. The current form of the Democrat party was formed in 1828 and became a national party in 1834. It has little to do with the Democrat Party formed by Jefferson in 1792. The Republican Party formed out of the Whig Party in 1854 and became a national party in 1860, about 63 years after the Constitution itself was ordained to power.
    [QUOTE=reagansghost;3236067]
    Without parties to nominate candidates and organize their supporters, without a national media, without a tradition (which didn’t come for more than 100 years) of candidates traveling around the country begging for votes, the framers couldn’t picture how, after George Washington left the scene, there would be political leaders with sufficient national reputations among ordinary voters to support a national election. In 1787, two national parties known as the Federalist Party (who later became Democrats after a few name changes) and the Democrat-Republican party (which became the Republican Party after a few name changes) vied for control of the new government. George Washington was elected by the Electoral College and served his first term starting in 1789.

    You really need to get your history from someplace besides shows on PBS that try to minimize and discard the Constitution of the United States.

    The United States is not a democracy at all. It is organized as a federated republic.

    The now disgraced electoral college is ultimately at fault for putting this demagogue, tyrant and thug tRump on civilization and humanity to be a menacing tyrant in violation of U.S. Constitutional law. This includes tRump who's mission is to destroy democracy, the lawful rights of all, the well being of society and the common decency of civilization. Therefore, as a result of tRump and his team of goons being criminals against humanity as a threat to the global economy and humanity, the electoral college at outliving its usefulness should be dismantled and done away with forever. As demonstrated as a result of this tRump atrocity, the electoral college has become very dangerous and destructive because if it were not for this corrupted electoral college in cahoots with antigovernment conspiring GOPer cronies, America would truly be great again.

    Isn't it sad when we have to educate the idiots here who actually graduated from High School? It is a sad testimony to the failure of our liberal controlled educational establishment.

    I think you are giving the liberals on this board much too much credit. At least the ones I have been conversing with.

    Yes. Keep in mind that some of these have graduated from college as well. Yet it is sad that they have never been educated.

    Aside from all of this other malarkey you put here, President Obama and President Clinton did not recruit Russians to hack the election in their favor nor did they use antigovernment conspiring GOPer cronies to manipulate the electoral college in their favor either in violation of U.S. Constitutional law like your beloved Fuhrer and Putin puppet tRump did.
