I do believe that OSU is the real deal, though. I'll eat my words if they find a way to not make the CFP.
As are LSU and Clemson. Too much talent, too good of coaching. All three could get tripped up and all three are capable of winning it all depending on the day..

And beat them quite handily, as they have beaten everybody else they've faced quite handily.

This weekend should give an idea how good they really are.

I remember last yr. the Jeff Sagarin ratings had Miss. State consistently in the top 20 with more losses than anybody else and ahead of at least two teams they lost to with better records. At one point they were in there with 5 losses.
Sagarin is secretive about how his methodology but it's obvious he weighs blowouts against cupcakes ahead of strength of schedule.

Of course they are. I'd say they're on par with Alabama, A Very good team one of three capable of winning it all this yr. But they couldn't get away with three turnovers against LSU. No way.

My favorite college football team, the Arizona State Sun Devils (I lived in Arizona for 33 years) upset #6 Oregon tonight to become bowl eligible! It's been an up and down season for the Devils. They started out the season with a 5-2 record, then lost 3 close games in a row, any of which they could've easily won. So tonight's victory was sweet.

Oregon is basically eliminated from the CFP. Wow! And they had the inside track to get the 4th seed if they coulda won out. That puts Alabama (or two SEC teams) a bit more in the running. Although I'd much rather see a one loss OK, Utah or Baylor in than two SEC teams.

Yep. ASU won't be in a very GOOD bowl game, but they WILL be in one now.

    Why is Oklahoma under rated?

Now they and Baylor are in the driver's seat, IMO. I don't see a one loss Bama getting in over a one loss team that has won it's conference championship.
