Despite China's pro Socialist media and one party rule, ... news of the Hong Kong uprising does make it to the mainland thru friends and relatives.

China has grown its Middle class over the decades, and that could come back to bite the Socialist gov't in the arse, if China's economy goes South and they start losing their jobs and businesses.

The new middle class are not going to go quietly back to a subsistence living on farms. They are educated, brave, and have tasted the greatness of capitalism and personal autonomy.

I would add a strong central government to BD’s list. Our domestic socialist/progressives like their government strong and centralized. They would like nothing better than a *national* law outlawing guns. They may say they just want to outlaw the scary AR’s but outlawing all weapons is the Gold Standard—at least it is for the radicals; there’s certainly no shortage of those and they’re starting to sneak into Congress.
