Default What if Obama 'had been assassinated' in 2008? - Biden

HANOVER, NH – Joe Biden often touts his relationship with former President Barack Obama. But at a campaign event Friday night in New Hampshire, the former vice president took a very unusual turn.

The former vice president asked the audience what would have happened if his former boss had been assassinated.

Toward the end of the town hall at Dartmouth College, Biden spotlighted two of his political heroes, Martin Luther King Jr. and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy – who were both murdered five decades ago.

Biden asked “Imagine what would have happened if, God forbid, Barack Obama had been assassinated after becoming the de facto nominee? What would have happened in America?"

TRUMP UPS THE ANTE IN CHINA TRADE WAR

The event was held on the 11th anniversary of Obama choosing then-Sen. Biden of Delaware as his running mate in the 2008 election.

Senior Biden adviser Symone Sanders quickly took to Twitter to explain the former vice president's unusual comment.

"He was putting into perspective, for young folks in the room, about how traumatic the assassinations of RFK and MLK were for the country," she wrote.

Biden kicked off the event in Hanover criticizing the current president, not his predecessor. He took aim at the Republican president, speaking as President Trump prepared to head off to the G-7 summit of the world’s top economic powers.

“As long as this man is president, and this is no hyperbole, we are in trouble,” Biden said.

    Good grief.

But Joe, hyperbole will only take you so far because at some point voters are going to start tuning it/you out. Too much is ‘not wrong’ with the country; too many people are working; too many new wars are not being fought; too many people are going about their lives as if Joe’s rhetoric was intended for people on another planet.

Absolutely, this country has some serious problems. But the democrat’s problem is *they are not of Trump’s making*. Trump inherited the opioid epidemic. He inherited the homeless situation. Trump inherited Obama’s ‘concentration camps’ at the border. Etc etc.

If the opioid crisis means ‘we’re in trouble’, well Joe, we will still ‘be in trouble’ if and when you get into the WH because the epidemic isn’t going to disappear by 2020. In the meantime, you and the rest of the democrats [and their media minions] would do the country a favor by stop inventing problems out of thin air.

It’s tiresome, Joe. And it insults the intelligence of tens of millions of voters and you would do well to think about that.

It’s arguably the biggest *real* problem the country faces. Climate change, for example hasn’t [credibly] taken a single life but millions of people are addicted to opioids. Imagine if they were cured, got jobs and contributed to the economy. The change would be hard to imagine—and *thats* not hyperbole.

What makes you think the majority of people taking opiates don't work?

and the true precursor for addiction is prior ABUSE- not just use of a prescription

There’s a variety of ways to fall into it, unfortunately.

Like getting drunk around the wrong people and making a few bad choices. I figure a good many of the young people get started that way. It was fun the first time ‘and nothing bad happened’ so it happens again—and boom.

Doctors over-prescribing narcotics is another way. People with chronic pain get hooked without breaking a single law. It’s a bad and pervasive problem.

Problem is, so many people are afraid of *them* lol!

The media is doing its very best to keep the Trump-fear quotient such as to give, whoever the democrat contender is, as much help as possible. A full 80% of the media has dropped even the pretense of being journalists—they’re democrat activists.

By all appearances, whoever it turns out to be will need it. Of course, maybe they can talk the country into having a recession. Or maybe the NYT’s racism stuff will have an effect.

    Time will tell.
