I don't care. If these KIDS are cheering in a public school on public property paid for by taxpayers and NOT a private sports teams funded, however that would happen, and they represent the school, the schools teams, are part of the school, are students at the school, using school insignias under the auspices of the county and/or the STATE, they should not be raffling off guns. Little kids have NO BUSINESS raffling off a product they can't even BUY! Not to mention the 'messaging' which obviously has no resonance to the GROWNUPS on THIS board!

Why not let them raffle off fancy collectors bottles of LIQUOR? There is literally no difference. (You know, this is an assumption but I'm thinking the kids wouldn't be allowed to raffle off liquor).

One of the 3 mothers went to authorities put it best...

The program director's July 30 email announcing the fundraiser said the same: “The gun has been a big money maker for football in the past!” Wooten emphasized the raffle winner would have to pass a background check before receiving the gun.

Chilton, a gun owner herself, said that wasn’t the issue. "I'm sure they do all the appropriate things,” she said. “That's not the point. The point is that our little girls should have nothing to do with it, period. They should be cheerleaders."
