"Heather Chilton said her 7-year-old daughter was asked to sell tickets for an AM-15 optic ready rifle to raise money for the New Richmond Junior Lions Football and Cheer program in Ohio, according to CNN affiliate WXIX.
"This is absurd, you're having elementary kids sell your AR-15. Why?" Chilton told WXIX. "I highly doubt that something would happen with the gun, but say it did. Say one of the kids in the high school got a hold of it — got the AR-15 or AM-15 and shot up a school with it, and I'm the one that sold the raffle ticket to his dad?"
The New Richmond Junior Lions Football and Cheer program is an independent, nonprofit organization for cheerleaders and football players ages 5 to 12. About 150 students participate in the program, according to the league's president, Robert Wooten."

You all have SUFFICIENTLY laid out those facts. And I get! And I believe them. IT IS STILL INAPPROPRIATE. The 3 mothers who went to the the county officials, who I guess went to the local press, picked up by CNN, picked up by RAW STORY, making it to this board. SAID IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE.
(I'm wondering if it is even legal for little kids to be 'raffling' off a gun for MONEY?)

Yet those 3 were vastly outnumbered by the number of people who bought tickets.
They have every right to state they think it is inappropriate. They have every right to not have their kids participate with the PRIVATE organization. The organization stated they raffled the gun again because it was popular in the past 4 years and had helped them raise the money they needed for the kids sports. The organization also stated that they would re-evaluate next year in light of the recent shootings. The organization also stated the parents who did not want to sell gun raffle tickets could instead sell all gift basket tickets.
Why wouldn't it be legal?
