Default Donald Trump orders US companies to move out of China after Beijing sets new tariffs

WASHINGTON | BEIJING: US President Donald Trump on Friday said he has ordered American companies to exit China after Beijing unveiled retaliatory tariffs on $75 billion in U.S. goods, throwing a new twist into the bitter trade war between the world's two largest economies.

Trump said on Twitter he will issue a response to China's latest tariff plan on Friday afternoon. The president was meeting with his trade team at midday, a senior White House official told Reuters.

It's unclear what legal authority Trump would be able to use to compel U.S. companies to close operations in China or stop sourcing products from the country.

The U.S. president said he also was ordering shippers including FedEx. Amazon.com Inc, UPS and the U.S. Postal Services to search out and refuse all deliveries of the opioid fentanyl to the United States.

Which is weirder? That there is a dope squatting in The White House who believes he has the authority to do this or that there is a dope squatting in The White House at all?

At whose behest is Trump breaking the USA?

looks more like doubling down on getting China to negotiate. But I also do not see any way to "order" Americans firm out of China..
Hold on tight. it's gonna be a bumpy but necessary ride

I was asking what route ppl would prefer to take in dealing w/ China-this is the way I was hoping they would not prefer..

If we go down this route we will have not one world system but more, @ least two..

China has already gone about setting up their own world bank, lending etc etc etc-

If trump cuts off Chinese IT-phones, computers internet etc that will seal the deal, & frankly they have already gone down that road many steps w/ their own goggle, their own Amazon etc & you know lots of that stuff they make is made exclusively or very close to exclusively in China-the entire supply chain.....

    Not pretty options IMHO......

There used to be a DOPE named Obama who believed that he could legislate without the Congress. Funny how you dipshits cheered the DOPE on that one.

    Weird is the word.

If I was a Trump supporter, I'd be ashamed. They thought he was gonna be great for the economy. Now it looks like Trump is wrecking the economy.

Of course the job is over his head but if Putin wanted to screw over the USA, he sure picked the right piece of treacherous garbage to do his bidding.

clearly China wants both access the world bank and it's own lending system, as well as it's own trade organization etc.
It's been getting away with murder with the WTO while being a main player of their own SCO
    ( Shagnhai cooperation org.)

So i think that ship has sailed.
as long as China can game and manipulate for high growth it can get away with a lot.

we are trying at least to establish a more level playing field for our bilateral relations

I pretty much agree on the WTO & world court... They have been conformed/forced, but it took time & by then the damage is done.....

I believe their participation in the WTO is prob #ed.. Once they have the BRI fully rolling & problems w/ the WTO mount it's usefulness will have been spent if they cannot control outcomes..

The BRI will be a separate trade/culture block. If it is successful -not much we can do.. another reason we need our own bilateral agreement

Do you feel it could be the basis for a new & hegemonic world order built around China?? Replacing the western/US institutions like WTO?

Own bilateral agreements w/ who?? Everyone??

Certainly that is China's goal; hows that for an "Asian pivot?"
I don't know about a replacement, but certainly a parallel economic order.

Yes, pretty much bilateral relations instead of global accords is the Trump doctrine

Let's get it straight then- Trump wants to put you out of business for trading with China and he wants to put you in jail for refusing to trade with Izrael.

And you STILL don't think that Izrael got the nut elected ! Haw, haw..................................haw.

This is just trump making another moronic statement that his supporters will eat up. Educated people continue to laugh at him and his supporters.
