The NRA and Repubs are mentally in awe of those on top. LaPierre must be great and must have been chosen by god. He has to be very special. Who are NRA members to question him, even though the NRA is bleeding money and losing power. NRA is partially going broke because the leadership uses the dues for their piggy banks They are losing the public argument on guns too. Trump is their stumbling, bumbling spokesman.
Why do they hide their membership and even hide the count? Because they are getting smaller and weaker.
