    But it didn't raise revenues.

Revenues collected in 2018 were $60B less than revenues collected in 2017.

Yes. Fiscal year 2018 revenues were higher than fiscal year 2017 revenues.

    Good link, thanks. From it:

"In 2018, the government’s revenues amounted to $3.3 trillion—$14 billion (or less than 1 percent) more than in 2017. As a percentage of GDP, revenues fell from 17.2 percent in 2017 to 16.4 percent in 2018, dropping below the average (17.4 percent) for the past 50 years."

    and

"Net spending by the government was $4.1 trillion in 2018—$127 billion (or 3.2 percent) more than in 2017. Outlays amounted to 20.3 percent of GDP in 2018, compared with 20.7 percent in 2017, and were equal to the 50-year average. If not for the shift in the timing of certain payments, outlays in 2018 would have equaled 20.5 percent of GDP."

So much for that cherished GOP lie about the (D)s: "Tax and spend Democrats."

Of course, you don't believe campaign rhetoric. Same is true for that Democratic lie that Republicans cut social programs.

You don't win votes by cutting the budget.

I'm always amused when Trump apologists are vanquished with facts and then turn to "Well, all politicians lie" or "They all make promises they don't keep." lol

Trump is sounding quite anxious and frantic lately. He probably believes that a tax cut will somehow erase a recession if we go into one. #OneTermTrumpie is headed for a world of legal woes if he doesn't win in 2020.

You began with the "politicians lie" argument when you said Republican rhetoric about Democrats being big spenders is a lie. I just agreed with you and gave you another example. They are both big spenders.

You have never heard me apologize, support, or defend Trump. You are making unfounded assumptions.

I was frankly shocked that you even gave the impression of defending the Toadstool. You've always had more honor, honesty, and class than that. My apologies for disregarding my initial impression and jumping to conclusions.
