The NRA itself says the gun its lobbyist wants little girls to have is actually 'for adults.'

The NRA's top lobbyist in Florida argued against a proposed assault weapons ban, complaining that if the law passes, young children might not get rifles for their birthdays.

"How do you tell a 10-year-old little girl who got a Ruger 10/22 with a pink stock for her birthday that her rifle is an assault weapon and she has to turn it over to government or be arrested for felony possession?" asked Marion Hammer at a Friday meeting of Florida economists to oppose the proposed ban.

The NRA and other pro-gun advocates in the state have complained that the proposal, which would be voted on in a referendum in 2020, is too broad, even though a recent Quinnipiac poll showed that 59% of Florida voters support an assault weapons ban in the state.

Your "link" has no "link", to this comment you're complaining about; but what is the problem with a child receiving a firearm on their birthday??

    Not with proper supervision.

I received my first .22 for Christmas, at 11.

It was a single shot and I was allowed to go by myself, to hunt rabbits; but then, I was taught gun safety much earlier.

At least 73 juveniles under age 12 were killed last year, roughly the same pace as the previous five years. What happened next varied widely.

A 2017 USA TODAY and Associated Press investigation of the 152 deaths from 2014 to 2016 found about half ended in a criminal charge, usually of adults who police said should have watched children more closely or secured their guns more carefully.

A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

UNTRUE; because guns are made to fire a bullet and what the person holding that gun decides to do, dictates the outcome; just like auto drivers make decisions that affect others.

Would you care to explain how "irresponsible" people are dying from cancer and heart disease??

Frankly, with no national healthcare, voter suppression, xenophobia, racism, misogyny, unaffordable education, and complete fucking idiots in the White House, the Senate Leader's chair, the Attorney General's Office, the majority in the Supreme Court, and the goddamned general electorate, guns don't seem like one of our biggest problem.

It's true, no other nation in the world has anywhere near the number of shooting deaths that we do. But we're Americans. We cap each other's asses. We've been doing that from the very beginning of our history as a nation. It's in our DNA.

If it scares you, don't have fucking kids. Everybody isn't meant to be a fucking breeder anyway. Most people just fuck for recreation, and when you get old, you don't care that much about it anyway.

    Guns aren’t our problem.

Our problem is the criminals who use them illegally.

The law-abiding American gun-owners do not use their guns illegally.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.
