Tent cities and the horrors you describe are mostly created by opioids which were pushed by drug companies for profit. That is the danger of unfettered capitalism. They will happily destroy people's lives for big profits. Every city in America. from biggest cities to small towns face troubles with opioid users who graduated to heroin.
Many homeless were vets who went through hell for corporate wars. When they got home, they had to deal with the effects all by themselves.

They did not sign on to Pharm addicting the masses. That was done to increase profits. Obama could not get Obamacare through if Pharm was fighting it. He had to make concessions.If Hillary was president, the ACAwould have been improved and drug companies would be dealt with.
