Good news. Our two coal-fired generating plants here are shuttered permanently; the city has switched to natural gas. We also have a small hydro plant and a solar farm. No more looking across the Lake on a clear day and seeing that nasty yellow coal haze hanging over the horizon. No more coming up over the highlands on the way to town and seeing the closer one belching crap into the air. The down side is that we haven't seen a single freighter pass by this year so far, but that's okay. Fair exchange for cleaner air.
