Default Dentists flocking to Texas, boom times a comin'

Texas set to end ban on brass knuckles

In less than two weeks, Texas residents will be allowed to carry brass knuckles for self defense.
Starting Sept. 1, brass knuckles will be removed from the Texas Penal Code's list of prohibited weapons under legislation signed into law by Gov. Gregg Abbott (R) earlier this year.

Another criminal / thug advocate wishing for the general population to be unarmed, sitting ducks as to not impede criminal acts or have the liberty to act in self defense.

No wonder you idiots lost and will lose again. Not only are you anti-American, you are pro-criminal.

What I remember from my adventures in the Texas oil patch is that state legislators there are not paid - or they only serve part-time. Something along those lines.

In that case, only the idle rich, trust fund babies, the independently wealthy are actually in a position to serve in the Texas state legislature. Which makes it first, an undemocratic and unrepresentative institution, and second would seemingly create a situation with the legislature over-representing the landed gentry, the idle rich, the corporate overlords, aka the conservative constituency of Texas.

Now, that was the 1990s, so things might be different now. Maybe its different now?

They receive a salary but it’s very low.
