As the price of clean energy technology plummets and China’s electricity demands rapidly rise,
investing in renewables is becoming more appealing. ,,

thanks to a combination of technological advances and support from the government, “grid parity”
    has already been reached.

I dont think anyone is in a position to predict what the nature of power generation will be in the future. What we can say for certainty is that those that voted for trump because he said he would bring coal back are morons.

what is truely moronic is setting up unrealistic expectations such as the New Green Deal,
    over carbon emissions/

We should be planting trees like Africa's Green Wall, moving to nuclear if you really think that's better for the planet then LNG, as well as encouraging renewable.

Oh and we need to stop killing the oceans - the biggest carbon sink of all

That's what we should be doing. But morons opt for impossibilities like New Green Deal

As usual puff pieces from alarmist websites like Carbon Brief never tell you about the huge environmental problems being stored up for the near future with solar and wind.

There are some very nasty and toxic chemicals in solar panels including cadmium telluride, copper indium selenide, cadmium gallium (di)selenide, copper indium gallium (di)selenide, hexafluoroethane, lead, and polyvinyl fluoride. Additionally, silicon tetrachloride, a byproduct of producing crystalline silicon, is highly toxic.
