Truth is most industrial countries are a mix of capitalism and socialism. That assumes you define socialism as any tax money given to specific groups of people. In America, we send the money up to the top enriching the 1 percent and corporations. Some other countries provide a safety net, healthcare, and education for the people. It is not a different system, just a different allocation. The people in these so-called socialist countries work, many for corporations, just like we do.
