Default Murdoch-owned NY Post calls for assault weapons ban

The Post concluded its editorial by stating that the founding fathers could not have envisioned the power of assault weapons when crafting the Second Amendment.

“Guns don’t kill people, people do,” says the cliché. "But the twisted and the evil can kill a lot more people when handed a murder machine. Our Founding Fathers gave us the right to bear arms in a time of muskets. They did not foresee a time when one 21-year-old could kill 20 people in the span of minutes thanks to poisonous beliefs and an assault weapon.

“If we have to have a choice between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we’d rather be alive and have the bad image.”

    — Golda Meir

I find it amusing that so many idiots can claim what the founders could not possibly have envisioned when they've not read a single one of the documents they produced. It's even more amusing that so many idiots swallow that koolaid and believe them.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

He's from AUSTRALIA and has a huge stake in ENGLAND. His roots had to have had some effect on him! Hell, he only became an American citizen after he wanted to buy CABLE here and you had to be a US citizen to own "media". Note--his CITIZENSHIP was fast tracked--during WHICH presidency? RONALD REAGAN's.

Does anyone here think think Roger Aisles wasn't whispering in REAGAN'S ear, Mr. Murdoch also wants to create a NEWS NETWORK devoted to REPUBLICAN ideology on his new cable operation.

Unless you can show me a gun growing arm/legs, walking where it fires, and pulling it's own trigger, it's not a cliche. Even you indicate it's the person yet want to blame the gun.

Oh well, so much for 'common sense' gun control!

Common sense apparently, for at least 10 years, precluded BUMPSTOCK regulation. Guess that was in the FOUNDING FATHERS vision as well. They envisioned a piece of plastic that could turn a MUSKET into a high powered weapon of war. They were after all really smart guys.

Do you think we are as stupid as you are or pretend to be?

Who the fuck do you think you are kidding here, man?
I'm not trying to kid anyone. I'm trying to educate a gun hating leftist that doesn't have the guts to try and take what he claims people shouldn't own. You're no different than you fellow nl domer, Nomad, Cypress, and archives. Lots of talk, no action.

Bump stocks can be easily made.

The ban will not prevent them just as gun laws don’t prevent gun violence.

The shooters are responsible, not the guns.

Just making them illegal will take them out of many hands. How many people will go through the trouble of cobbling a bump stock? The only ones are the mass shooters. A gun or rifle that shoots as fast as you pull the trigger is more than sufficient.

They also didn't foresee the internet and it's ability to spread visceral hate. Let's rethink the first Amendment.....

    they were brilliant people

if you recall a gun was needed to HUNT FOOD by nearly all Americans at the time

the founders would be behind the banning of weapons of war in a red hot second

because they were not idiots unlike you
