Default Why Does Trump Want a Second Term?

Why indeed, it will not be any easier for Trump if he were to win a second term? The media, cartoonist, and Trump critics will be on his fat ass! Any other man-child would have said f*uck this, I'm through with this shit, going golfing?!!

He hasn’t offered many new ideas for another four years—and hasn’t accomplished most of what he aimed for so far in his first four.

Easy to miss amidst the continuing fusillade of racist remarks from the White House was a remarkable Washington Post story this weekend:

President Trump has instructed aides to prepare for sweeping budget cuts if he wins a second term in the White House, five people briefed on the discussions said, a move that would dramatically reverse the big-spending approach he adopted during his first 30 months in office. Trump’s advisers say he will be better positioned to crack down on spending and shrink or eliminate certain agencies after next year, particularly if Republicans regain control of the House of Representatives.

If Trump is really contemplating large cuts in a second term, it’d be very strange. But the idea of a serious fiscal-conservative turn after 2020, no matter how unlikely, does raise a larger question: What exactly would be the point of a second Trump term?

Fiscal conservatism seems a stretch. Tuesday night, Trump announced a deal to raise the debt ceiling and increase federal spending by $320 billion. But there are some part-time fiscal hawks in the administration, including acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, and this story seems like either Trump trying to appease them or else their attempt to seed the idea of cuts in the public consciousness.

Because Trump is making millions on his DC Hotel and Mara Lago- and off of his MAGA hats- which would never be possible if he were not president!

He's also immune from prosecution and prison, according to the DOJ and Mueller -- as long as he's polluting our WH.

Christ, did anybody bother to read the OP (including the person that posted it)?

He wants cuts to federal spending for chrissakes. Politically it would be extremely unpopular (It would possibly cause a recession) but something that needs to be done eventually.
Gives me one more reason to vote for Trump.

This is my theory: Tax cuts and deficit spending temporarily create a booming economy. He gets reelected and is unafraid to veto spending bills and cut agencies which will be politically damaging but necessary. I could be wrong. But that's what I see the OP is about.

One can hope that will be his motivation but I have never seen any sign of that.. I think that is the part that was always in the dem part of him.lol

IMHO that tax cut was a mistake & lots of revenue was lost-adding to the problem & not very much was gained...

The market is still booming, but if that was his point, he has a long ways to drive that train to the election.....
