Default Harris is the one who let 'Filthy Filner,' pervert San Diego Mayor off easy

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, got loud and out there about wanting Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta to resign over what the press dubbed a 'sweetheart deal' to Palm Beach pervert and Bill Clinton plane-riding buddy, Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein molested little girls and was repeatedly not prosecuted, except for that one time he ran into then-Miami prosecutor Acosta, who got him some small sanction. Democrats, on the other hand, who didn't have to resign for anything, had been protecting him.

Not an obstacle to Kamala Harris. Here's one of her tweets:

It's time for Alex Acosta to resign as Labor Secretary.

DOJ must also ensure Jeffrey Epstein is investigated w/o outside interference—that means AG Barr & Deputy AG Rosen should recuse themselves because of their professional ties to the firm that previously represented Epstein. — Kamala Harris (@SenKamalaHarris) July 10, 2019

Which is the height of hypocrisy and so very typical of Kamala Harris.

Harris, it turns out, is the one who as California's attorney general, gave San Diego's famous pervert mayor - a guy who forced workers to perform sex acts, including his famous 'head lock' - a slap on the wrist in 2013 after all he got away with. She negotiated the Democrat's plea deal, which gave him some decorum lessons, zero jailtime, and no need to place himself on the registry of sex offenders

Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign biography rests heavily on her career as prosecutor, including six years as California attorney general. But it omits a plea deal her office negotiated for former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, a serial sexual harasser, which let him escape jail time and avoid registering as sex offender.

Harris’ office was reportedly in charge of negotiating a plea deal stemming from allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct against former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner brought by about 20 women in 2013.

So rather than spend five years behind bars, Filner got three months of house arrest, three years' probation, and some loss of his mayoral pension.

Attorney General Kamala D. Harris issued a statement following the hearing saying “No one is above the law.”
“This conduct was not only criminal, it was also an extreme abuse of power,” said Harris. “This prosecution is about consequence and accountability.”
By pleading guilty to the felony, Filner forfeits his mayoral pension benefits from the time of the first offense to the date he submitted his resignation according to prosecutors.
NBC 7 legal analyst Marc Carlos said the felony charge was surprising and significant because a felony count of false imprisonment requires a certain amount of distress and physical restraint.
In California, the maximum sentence for the felony charge is 3 years in state prison, a $10,000 fine and four years parole and the maximum for each misdemeanor count is 12 months in jail, plus a $4,000 fine.
Judge Trentacosta can override the plea agreement after he reads the probation report, but that would be highly unlikely.
Read the terms of the plea agreement
Filner was ordered to appear for a "book and release" at a date to be decided by the clerk. He will be sentenced on Dec. 9 at 9 a.m.
An attorney read a prepared statement from Filner to the media that had gathered outside the hearing.
