Did Trump say that Mexican’s were unfit to be judges? No. Did he say anything about Mexicans, generally? No. Is Mexican even a race? No.

Trump had an issue with one particular judge *who was part of a pro-Mexican society* out of concern that he would be biased against Trump because Trump was going to build a wall. NOT because there’s something innately biased about Mexicans. THAT would be racist.

no I have not. Ryan is a disaster..he negotiated a YUGE spending increase after a career of portraying himself as a budget hawk. On top of that he would not schedule a vote on wall funding.

If the wall is really that important, why didn't Trump get his funding when the GOP had control of Congress? Answer: because he couldn't have gotten the funding from a GOP Congress either and it isn't the wall that matters anyway. The only purpose for the wall is its use against Democrats.

My criticism of Trump in that instance is he should know better than to even go there. As soon as the word ‘Mexican’ came out of his mouth it wouldn’t matter what else he said because the media would frame it as ‘racist’.

There’s no way he could *not* be aware of it so one has to surmise he just doesn’t care—he’s going to say what he thinks and to Hell with the consequences. On the one hand that kind of candor in a politician is a breath of fresh air and it’s one of the reasons he got elected.

But it’s also a double-edged sword. It often leads to Trump being his own worst enemy with some of his rhetoric. This instance gets filed under ‘stupid’ unfortunately. He should have kept it to himself.
