good grief..can you imagine if we give health care to illegals? we'll be flooded by the world.
~~
yes you do get an operation if needed, but only to stabilize you - like a surgery to keep you from dying
but no other follow up ( health care).
At least that's how it is here -california might be more generous?

who said "free" -we said coverage.
But MEDICADE would be free. California would be free as well

MSNBC Democratic presidential primary debate co-moderator Savannah Guthrie asked the candidates to raise their hand if their healthcare plan would cover undocumented immigrants. President Donald Trump reacted on Twitter, calling it "the end of that race."
Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Bennet, Marianne Williamson, John Hickenlooper, and Eric Swalwell all raised their hand.

Unfortunately, you’re small sample size probably paints a fairly accurate picture.
Though I think it’s different this time as opposed to the strong economy under Reagan. Democrats have become, literally, crazy with some of their proposals in a way they never were under Reagan. Can blacks/minorities who hate Trump bring themselves to vote for someone advocates for open borders or for giving illegal immigrants free healthcare? Or will they stay at home.
Also, it’s hard to know the effect they will have but there are social media black conservatives that have healthy followings. That was obviously unheard of in Reagan’s day. Candace Owens, Diamonds and Silk and some other less well known black voices are out there and being heard by everyone—including in the black community.
The Hispanic community is somewhat different since the notion that ‘Republicans=racist’ hasn’t become ossified in that community to the same extent it has in the black community. Also, Hispanic/Latino is less ideologically monolithic than the black community: it includes a sizable segment of Cuban Americans who are staunchly conservative, for example.
2020 is going to be interesting with respect to how the minorities swing and how they turn out.

Factual or not many/most black people think Republicans are racist. Baring a major sea change of some sort that isn't going to change. I follow Candace Owens. I don't love everything she says but she is definitely putting herself out there to make a change. But her movement is small.
In my circle I don't see black folks commenting on illegals and healthcare for illegals. IMO, the issue doesn't resonate with most black voters.
Other minority groups aren't monolithic but they are trending Democratic and one of my big concerns with Trump is he is pushing them even more in that direction. I saw this happen in California. It may not manifest itself overnight but it's driving minorities, Hispanics particularly, to become more politically active when they weren't before.
Republicans aren't getting the black vote. That's done and past. But we have a chance with the Hispanic vote but to me we as a party don't do enough outreach to cultivate young Hispanic voters. Instead we are turning many of them off. And don't mean to win their support we have to support open borders. What I do mean is the rhetoric we use when discussing the issues and policies. To me we are doing long term damage. I could be wrong, time will obviously tell.

We’re at least a generation from ‘getting’ the black vote—if it ever happens at all.
The problem for democrats is they need 80-90% of the black vote before they start getting nervous. All Trump [or any republican] needs to do is make some in-roads into the black vote. That’s where voices like Candace Owens are encouraging.
The Sea Change is out.
Trump can be his own worst enemy with some of his rhetoric. And of course it doesn’t help that our lovely media can, and will, construe his every utterance as ‘racist’ if it’s even slightly conceivable that it can be rendered as such.
They are truly despicable.

it's going to be interesting to see how the Hispanic vote breaks down. Here in Florida we got us more loads of P.Ricans
( hopelessly Democratic) but I'm seeing Mexicans much more backing Trump because of the good economy.
It comes down to ID politics or a bustling economy -see which way they break

Um...you're saying this in response to evidence being posted of DEMOCRATS calling blacks lazy, violent, and responsible for their own troubles, genius.
Attachment 10853
Blacks are conservative on almost every issue, but vote against their own ideological interests for the only people involved who are promising them racist preferential treatment at everyone else's expense. There's logically nothing else to conclude. "Fooling no one"...except people with functioning brains.
Well if that is true, & many of you, including your leader, believe it, then why not act accordingly?? DON'T SAY SHIT THAT CAN BE CONSTRUED AS RACIST!!!! wtf, it aint that hard, well for most ppl, but he can't help himself, he is his own worst enemy lots of the time..
Telling ppl to go back to were they came from is legally defined as harassment(Harassment Based on National Origin), so @ the very least he is harassing, nothing to construe, the big mouth is harassing ppl-the same voters you & cowacko are desiring to recruit into your party......... WTF??
Anyone can see this is working against your party in the short term~as well as the long term... It's probably not going to get any better from here on out, probably worse for your & cowacko's cause......

It’s not harassment in a legal sense—that was covered in another thread.
But you do have a point: Trump should refrain from making statements that can be construed as racist. Primarily, because they will invariably be construed as racist. Though part of the problem is so many things ‘can be construed as racist’ that it’s gotten a bit ridiculous.
Also, democrats get away with saying things ‘that can be construed as racist’ where Republicans don’t. Could you fricking imagine, if Trump said ‘we don’t need more white people in office, we need more white voices’. The identical thing was uttered by one of the Squad.
But it went under the radar of our illustrious Racism Detectives both here at JPP and in our lovely media.
Why is that?

I shared the gubment link to that phrase.
I dunno exactly why millions of pp could construe what he says as racist, but I would assume it is based on other things he has said in the past..
& the things dems did not say, @ least recently...
IMHO identity politics is another topic/can of worms..
Personally I don't care what the squad, gang of four or whatever you wanna call them said...
My opinion is pretty simple-they just got there, they have done nothing worth my interest of yet........ NON-FACTORS!!
They have been elevated by the gop, trump, the media, whoever to leadership, which I imagine makes pelosi & some of the other that were there before they were born rather annoyed, or worse~they're freshman, not even completed a single term in office..
IMHO they are not worth arguing about-period..
I would hope we, & the politicians have more important tasks to busy themselves w/...........
