To identify Trump's rhetoric about people going "back to where they came from" as racist is just wrong. Race is not a geographic thing, so it is racist to imply that Trump's rhetoric has anything to do with race. Hating America is not a race, so these America-hating lefties that Trump referred to were not identified as a race. Since racism is about race, and Trump did not identify any race, there cannot be racism. Lefties however, show their racism by implying that "back where they came from" is a designated place where a certain race is from.

Telling non-white people to "go back to your country" is a common trope. Three of these women were born in America and all four of them are American citizens. So the comments made no sense outside of this common trope that non-white people aren't American, even if born here. It's like when people say the Holocaust didn't happen. Could a person just honestly believe the Holocaust didn't happen? Sure. But denying the Holocaust is a common trope used against Jews. If someone were to tell four Jewish congress officials that they need to stop complaining about the Holocaust because it didn't happen, we would all know that person was being anti-semitic.

I think you're smart enough to know that Trump did this to play to the Alt-Right. And personally, I agree with him. To be American, you have to be white. I just don't understand why his supporters won't admit that they feel the same way.

This is really funny. I think Trump would rather be called racist. Brit Hume has just called Trump stupid, a liar, showing an extreme dislike or fear of foreigners and believing that the native born are more important than those that are foreign born.
