It’s not racist.

The most racist comments I’ve heard uttered by any politician, in a very long while, came from the mouth of one of the Squad members.

To paraphrase: ‘we don’t need more black faces—we need more black voices. We don’t need more brown faces—we need brown voices. We don’t need more Muslims—we need more Muslim voices’.

*Just bloody imagine* if Trump or any other republicans saying ‘we don’t need more white faces—we need more white voices’. As if whiteness was something to be advanced—or whatever.

Predictably, the media hyperventilated about Trump saying these loons should go back to their own countries to fix their problems and come back and tell us how to fix ours. Given some of their perverse/sanctimonious statements [concentration camps etc] I expect tens of millions of *non-racist* voters agree with that sentiment even if they think Trump shouldn’t have said it.

I think the media knows full well it wasn’t racist but they needed to cover for the Pelosi-AOC dust-up. And dayum, the comments about ‘needing less black faces’ needed some cover too.

Yes, there are. But Toadstool singled out those particular women because he knows his base hates and fears them because of both race and religion, and he knows how to whip up the racist, xenophobic fervor. Fox and the Reichwing blogosphere, for instance, has been going after AOC from the moment she was elected. There are dozens of threads just here on JPP attacking her. What makes his comments racist? He has gone on Twitter rampages against other (D)s who dared to criticize him. But he never told *them* to "go back" and to leave the country.... only these women who are clearly non-white.
