Citing higher minimum wages in Seattle, Portland, and SF, restaurant chain files for bankruptcy

Progressives never learn. Even as Democrats running for president line up behind a national $15/hour minimum wage, on the West Coast, where cities like Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco all have implemented this demand, a restaurant chain with over 2,000 employees has filed for bankruptcy, citing the high minimum wages that have increased its costs.

Not only that, they usually double down on stupid. I suspect those cities will try to raise the minimum wage to $20/hr. in the belief it will fix the problem.

Is this some kind of cryptic riddle? Because it makes no sense whatsoever.

Arbitrary minimum wage laws do nothing to make lives better. NADA, nothing. What part of NOTHING do leftists have so much trouble comprehending?

That's always been my contention. Which is why I'm not against minimum wage laws. They simply do nothing overall. They may rearrange who's employed or not or cause inflation which would price out the increased wages, but overall, NOTHING.

Restaurant chains close for lots of reasons. All those others paying it are open.https://www.epi.org/publication/wage...age-increases/ Like Trump's casinos going bankrupt. Every other one stayed open and profitable. It was a management problem. Because someone blames the wage increase does not make it so.

No. They are looking for a buyer. No one wants it.

But they have. They've done what price controls always have done. They cause shortages. In this case, available jobs.

They stated why they are closing, dumbass. Other restaurants have either closed, curtailed operations, or reduced their staff to a point of barely being able to stay open. Those that are surviving are moving out of affected areas.

Lefties do have a tendency to push for things that aren't at the root of the problem they claim they're trying to solve.

Yet nothing was wrong with the business model they were using nor the management BEFORE the increase in the minimum wage.
