Certainly I think a person's religious views and behavior should be consistent, but I can't determine whether anyone meets those standards. Neither person is meeting any Biblical command to be good to foreigners regardless of their views about immigration laws. They are both doing nothing to help the situation.

I personally believe most people's beliefs are not consistent with their behavior and have trouble remembering that should not be a criticism of religion but how humans apply religion.

IOW, nobody should take their religion seriously. They're free to twist it to fit what they want to believe.

That is up to each individual but it has nothing to do with anything I said. Many people do take their religion seriously and do not think they are twisting it to fit what they want to believe.

The point is that it is not the job of me or you to claim a person's religious beliefs are not serious or that they are not consistent with his political beliefs or actions. Presuming to understand whether a person's religious beliefs are consistent with his political beliefs is arrogance hiding snarky political attacks as concern with religion.
